Aeotec Z-Wave WallMote Review | Home Automation

Home Automation systems often add a great deal of convenience, but sometimes its simple to forget that we need to do things manually sometimes too!  Forget pulling out a smartphone to turn on some lights, we need a simple way to add manual functionality to the smartest of smart home automation.

This is where the z-wave WallMote from Aeotec come’s in.  This is a small square device that mounts to any surface using magnets.  This switch comes in a dual or quad mode switch which using different gestures can offer up to 16 scenes and add simple increase/decrease control to systems like Sonos.

Because its a z-wave device, its super simple to setup in home automation systems like Smartthings, Wink, openHAB or Home Assistant.  Of course if you are using an opensource system you will need a Aeotec Z-Stick as well as part of your network.
